Counseling and Career Development is looking for students with an interest in mental health awareness and education, who can lend skills, guidance and unique student perspectives to the operations and programming of Counseling and Career Development.
This “Advisory Council" would be a recurring focus group, or a group of students who meet regularly to share their needs and expectations as well as emerging needs related to mental health issues on campus (NCDA.org).
Please know, your participation is critical to ensuring that the student experience is reflected in Counseling and Career Development activities. Council members will provide observations, suggestions and encourage discussion around emerging trends and issues.
The commitment is for one semester, one hour and a half long meeting per month; advisory council members will be provided with a small stipend, a meal and parking voucher.
All interested students will participate in an interview before the council is selected at the beginning of each semester. If you are interested or want to know more, please contact Melissa Ware, Program Director, Counseling and Career Development at 616-234-4130, or email melissaware@grcc.edu.
Please fill out the brief application and submit. Applications are excepted on a rolling basis.
